1.    Introduce yourself and anyone else who may be playing with you for Jazz Sessions and where you are from?

My name is Nikki Kidd international Jazz Vocalist born and raised in Miami Beach FL, accompanied by Colin James born and raised in Ft. Lauderdale on Keys and Sax.

2.    What initially inspired you to pursue a career in jazz music?

I had the privilege of studying jazz at the University of Miami, i originally auditioned for the musical theatre program but didn’t pass the dance and acting portion of the audition, when they hear me sing and I aced the theory portion they recommended the jazz program. So I literally discovered my love for jazz whilst studying.

3.    What can attendees expect from your upcoming performance?

A really fun and interactive experience my style is a mix of traditional with a mix of funk soul and Caribbean influence.

4.    What are some of the key influences that have shaped your unique sound?

I’m a big fan of darker tone quality like a Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, or a Carmen McCrea you’ll hear a bit of them when I sing.

5.    If you could play with any one musician (living or dead) who would that be and why?

Tough one but I’d say Nina her music touches me on a deeper level.
