Bios for Music for the Mind Presents ‘An Evening of Song’
 
Jessica Taylor, a 19-year-old Jupiter native, has been performing since the age of three.  A graduate of the Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts in West Palm Beach, Jessica also attended summer programs at North Carolina School of the Arts, Boston Conservatory, and Bel Canto Institute in Florence, Italy.  Throughout high school, Jessica performed locally with the Maltz Jupiter Theater, Young Singers of the Palm Beaches and was a member of the Palm Beach Opera Chorus for three seasons.  In 2009, the young soprano was a Level I winner in the National Foundation for the Advancement in the Art's YoungArts Competition, 1st Place winner in Junior Achievement's Watch a Rising Star Competition and Palm Beach Post's Pathfinder winner for voice.  Even with her busy schedule she has always enjoyed giving hundreds of community service hours to performing at many charity events, civic functions and nursing homes.  Jessica is currently a student at The Juilliard School in Manhattan studying classical voice with Ms. Edith Bers and receiving additional weekly training from numerous renowned coaches including: Arlene Shrut, Robert Cowart and Nico Castel.  This past April, she performed her debut New York recital in Juilliard's Paul Recital Hall at Lincoln Center.
 
Avery Amero, Mezzo-Soprano, studies with Dan Marek at Mannes College the New School for Music in New York City and is about to enter her second year.  She was featured as a soloist numerous times in her high school concerts at Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts and in the annual chorus concert at Mannes.  She performed the National Anthem at the 2008 March of Dimes Fundraiser for Governer Crist and in 2009 for the Palm Beach County Police Benevolent Association Ball.  Last March she taught at Southampton Middle School promoting Classical art music.  This summer she interned with the Chelsea Opera Company on their production of Mozart's ‘Le Nozze di Figaro’ where she worked behind the scenes as well as played the role of the bridesmaid.  This is her second duo recital.  She will be competing in Palm Beach Idol this July.
