Join Armory Art Center instructor Jennifer Kaplan to create a one-of-a-kind face mug during this family friendly class. Use templates, stamps and underglazes to customize and decorate your own mug.

About the artist:
Jennifer Kaplan is the 2021-22 Ceramic Artist in Residence at the Amory Art Center. Recently, they earned their MFA from the University of Notre Dame while teaching undergraduate ceramic courses. After earning a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a concentration in ceramics, Jennifer taught ceramics and painting throughout Chicago. They currently teach a variety of ceramic courses including figure sculpture, ceramic chemistry, wheel throwing and altering, urban gardening, and handbuilding workshops for adults and young people. As an art-science-activist, Jennifer nurtures relationships between human and nonhuman living organisms. Their work can be found throughout the states, and they have attended interdisciplinary residencies in Wisconsin, Michigan and now Florida.
