BAM Festival 2020

In collaboration April is for Authors Foundation and Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach, Rosemary Square is a host location for BAM Festival 2020 on Saturday, March 7. From 10am-2:30pm, enjoy story readings by the authors themselves under The Wishing Tree, and at Paper Source and Capital One. 10AM: Storytime with Angela Dominguez under The Wishing Tree
Join author/illustrator (and two-time Pura Belpre honor winner) Angela Dominguez and read some stories about having little llamas instead of lambs! And you might just learn a little Spanish too!

10AM: Pop-Up Book Making Workshop with Robert Sabuda at Paper Source
Try your hand at making your own pop-up book. Will it be a scary dinosaur? A big castle? You’ve got to come and find out. Join author and illustrator Robert Sabuda for a step-by-step lesson on how to make your own pop-up book.

10:30AM: Storytime with Tami Charles under The Wishing Tree
Ready for some stories of daring ladies that beat cowboys and magic soups from Haiti? Come listen to Tami Charles share some truly adventurous and flavorful tales!

11AM: Storytime with Mechal Roe under The Wishing Tree
Superheroes Are Everywhere! Don’t believe us? Well, sit down with author/illustrator Mechal Roe, and she’ll teach you how to spot them.

11:30AM: Storytime with Gordon C. James under The Wishing Tree
The gorgeous artwork from the books illustrated by Gordon C. James  capture the hearts of their heroes. Hear stories about the first African-American catcher in the major leagues, a black cowboy that wouldn’t quit, and boys with fresh cuts straight out of the barbershop.

12PM: Storytime with Harvey Oyer under The Wishing Tree
The adventures in these books highlight history that happened right down the street from you!  Charlie Pierce’s adventures catalogue the journey of being a young pioneer in Florida, and his great-grand nephew, author Harvey Oyer, is here to tell you about him!

12:30PM: Storytime with Robert Forbes under The Wishing Tree
Calling all animal lovers! Are you ready for a story time with some of your Beast Friends? Join successful businessman turned author, Robert Forbes, as he shares mischievous poetry about some not too beastly creatures from his three books of poetry for children.

1PM: Storytime with Molly Idle under The Wishing Tree
From mermaids under the sea to dancing pink flamingos, these colorful tales with author/illustrator Molly Idle will surely spark your imagination.

1:30PM: Storytime with Erica Perl under The Wishing Tree
Join author Erica Perl as she reads from a collection of her picture books featuring her hilariously funny characters.

2PM: Storytime with Camille Andros under The Wishing Tree
From historical tales of Eliza Hamilton, to beautiful reunions amidst immigration, to whimsical tales of bunny scientists: there is truly a story for everyone with author Camille Andros.
